Korean promotion Road FC held their first overseas event in Japan on July 25th which include a match-up between Japanese queen of MMA Satoko Shinashi  vs 16-year-old Korean pro debutant Ye Ji Lee. Ye Ji Lee took the fight in a month’s notice after the original opponent had to pull out due to injury. Satoko’s original opponent was Korean starlet Park Ji Hye(1-0). There were no surprises as the Japanese defeated the 16-year-old Korean in round 2 via TKO.

The main event was no better.  Japanese middleweight veteran Riki Fukuda who came in with a record of 23-7 defeated Korean Uh Jin Jeon who came in with a 3-2 record via TKO in the first round.  Another one-sided affair on paper included Japanese Pride legend Ikuhisa Minowa (59-38) defeating Korean middleweight Dae Sung Kim(2-3) via unanimous decision.

Despite what seems like a one-way street for Japan, Road FC 24 had a stellar match-up between top bantamweights in the main card. 23-year-old rising Korean prospect and former One Championship bantamweight Champion Soo Chul Kim(10-5) defeated Japanese Taiyo Nakahara(14-7) via guillotine in 4:48 of the first round. Kim increased his winning streak to 4 after losing the title to current One Championship Bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes  in a unification bout.
